Child immunisations

Child immunisations are available in clinic or a GP can come to you.

Back

8 weeks

  • Diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough (pertussis), polio, Haemophilus influenzae type b and hepatitis B (6 in 1 vaccine)
  • Pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV)
  • Rotavirus vaccine
  • Meningitis B vaccine

 

 

12 weeks

  • Diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough (pertussis), polio, Haemophilus influenzae type b and hepatitis B (6 in 1 vaccine) (second dose)
  • Rotavirus vaccine (second dose)

 

 

16 weeks

  • Diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough (pertussis), polio, Haemophilus influenzae type b and hepatitis B (6 in 1 vaccine) (third dose)
  • Pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV) (second dose)
  • Meningitis B vaccine (second dose)

 

 

One year

  • Hib/Meningitis C vaccine
  • Hib (fourth dose)
  • Measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine
  • Pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV) (third dose)
  • Meningitis B vaccine (third dose)

13 months +

  • Chicken pox vaccination (given in two doses one month apart)

 

 

2 – 6 years

  • Children’s flu vaccine (annual)

 

 

3 years and 4 months

  • Measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine (second dose)
  • 4 in 1 pre school booster for diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough) and polio

 

 

12 – 13 years (girls only)

  • HPV vaccine (human papillomavirus types 16 and 18) – two injections given 6-12 months apart

 

 

14 years

  • 3 in 1 booster for diphtheria, tetanus and polio
  • MenACWY for meningitis caused by A, C, W & Y bacteria
