Yes. Advanced electronically signed private prescriptions are valid in all of the UK. The system is designed and built to comply with The Human Medicine Regulation 2012.
When viewing a prescription online, an ‘available for dispensing’ message will appear on the e-prescription page. This will provide confirmation that the e-prescription has not been dispensed elsewhere and is still valid. If a ‘Void’ or ‘Already Dispensed’ message appears, please contact GPDQ and do not dispense the medication.

The pharmacy will ask you to pay a fee for the medication and the dispensing service. Fees for private prescriptions vary between pharmacies.
Pharmacies can download the dispensing token on the e-prescription page. This token can be used as a reference and for record keeping in accordance with GPhC guidelines. Patients are advised not to print Signature Rx tokens to avoid confusion.
Although prescriptions with advanced electronic signatures are recognised across EU, we do not guarantee acceptance as this would be down to the regulation in the individual member state and the pharmacy.
